I would stick with GM approved Dextron III or an Allison C4 approved fluid .....

I agree with Mac. Using anything else could become a $6k mistake.

I still use Dextron, recently changed mine for the second time ... couldn't see any difference it the fluid drained than the fluid added ... if I ever have to have transmission worked on will probably go back with Transend (sp?) but till then will stick with Dextron
