Cut from another current thread:

Tom--- great findings on those software/program part numbers!!! Now we're at the point where people could potentially program their current Premium UC6's to speak "LUX"!!

---Ben

Hmm, so what would be the worst case scenario here, if I got the LUX amp, did the re-wire, and tried to have the dealer reprogram my UC6 and it didn't work?

I'd have to get a LUX HU and possibly pay the dealer again for TechII time?

Bottom Line............Yes

Do you have a dealer tech willing to "experiment"? Do you have the will to push the dealer to try? Do you have a friend with a Tech 2 willing to help you?

I've become pretty 'chummy' with my service writer due to the overheating issue, and other small issues with my Denali. He has been more than willing to entertain most anything, so I'd assume it would not be a problem, but I'd need to go in with a step by step approach.

I need to search and study the threads here to fully understand the whole conversion first.

First up, find out what the part number of your radio is. Take that and your VIN into your dealer, and see if you can access the Y91 Bose programs in the TIS-2000 computer using those numbers. I posted the programs I used in the thread your quote came from. If you can access those programs, I'm thinking it would work.

As for O/H...did you see this thread yet? http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=648736#post648736

Tom,

Do I need to take the HU out to get the Part#?

As to the OH, I'm all over everything like stink on poop. I'm actually headed over to Killerbee's house after I type this to pick up some foam and our test grill to stack shroud. I'm towing my trailer up north this weekend and want to see if all of our bandaid mods help. I've already done the cold air box step.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah..its on the side of the radio. If you don't want to tear into the dash, I think if you take your VIN to the dealer Parts counter, they can call up the radio part number based on that.

Good luck on the O/H solutions. Wouldn't that be a joke if it ends up being something that simple? Tell KillerB I said Hey!
