: Edge CS Race screen blank

Started the truck this morning, battery was nearly dead but got the truck started. The Edge CS Racing screen was blank and stayed blank. Restarted the truck after driving later this morning and screen is still blank.

I checked connections, everything is okay.

It does this once in a while, but usually pushing one of the buttons on the side brings it to life, did not work this time. No check engine lights or any other indicators, so truck seems fine.

Anybody else had this issue with the Edge CS Racing? The blank screen was intermittent before and always came back after a minute or by pushing one of the buttons. Don't want to unhook it because I can't unflash the PCM with a dead screen.

I would check the cigarette lighter fuse to see if it is blown.
Also try it in another vehicle.

Got it going, but this problem seems to be getting more frequent. Seems like it happened about the same day the one year warranty ran out.

I drove it all afternoon with the display out, no problem with the truck otherwise.

Not sure what the cigarette lighter fuse had to do with it, but was not the cause. Just kept pushing buttons tonight until it finally lit up.

Probably to low of voltage to trip it on with whatever it senses. Sounds like it might be time for some new batteries.

Sounds like a low voltage issue from the batteries. I don't believe the LMM has a cig lighter, let alone a fuse, but it does have a fuse that helps power the ODBII port. If it's shot, the screen will not come on. I've had it happen to mine for some reason. I believe it's a 10amp mini fuse under the hood. Glad to hear it's working. Might want to look at new batteries? I'm having similar issues with mine going blank. I doubt I need new batteries with 11k miles.I want to say it started doing this since day one.

I had this issue as well. My issue was batteries. If the voltage drops too low the Evolution will go into a sleep mode and will not power on until you disconnect it and reconnect it. They do this to prevent the batteries from discharging to the point that you cannot start the truck.

The way I found this out was to power the Evolution on without starting the truck. I then monitored battery voltage on the Evolution monitor and turned on the headlights as well as the AC blower motor on high. The battery voltage dropped bellow 11 volts which means the batteries are not keeping enough charge. I replaced the batteries and do not have this issue anymore.

^^^ when mine froze, i drop the truck to the gas station to get fuel. I put fuel, started back up and the CTS froze on the start up screen and stayed like that for over 5 mins. At that point I disconnected it and replugged it in. Fired right up

I'd get the batteries tested and see what the voltage drop is. If they drop bellow 11 volts, they may be on their way out.
