Does anyone know if ther eis a fuel economy difference and performance difference. I have hear of people running it but never heard anyhting about how good or bad it runs. Also the manual says that you can only run B5. I would like to make my which is not a issue but if it does not make and difference i am not sure if i want to go though the effort

Biodiesel generally has a higher cetane rating, but a lower btu rating (although both of these do depend a small amount on feedstock). So, the general consensus is you get a smoother running motor, but may lose a small amount of mpg. Up to B5 you probably aren't going to notice much difference on either count. B20 and up would probably give noticeable effects on both.

The lubricity of biodiesel is much better than petrol, so it could have a positive effect on injector life. This is, of course, assuming the biodiesel is ASTM spec and is clean and moisture-free.

I just got back from a 2000 mile trip towing. I ran B80 for the first tank and got 15.9. I ran D2 to B20 for the rest of the trip, and saw 15.9 mpg for the rest of the tanks.

I have not noticed a lack of power, or a fall in MPG at all running my high blends.

Only the sweet release of guilt from knowing that my fuel $$$ is going to farmers, not terrorists.

Running B20 made from canola oil, I have better fuel economy (10-20%, depending on load - better with bigger load), and better performance than on D2. I did not expect those results, but have had them repeat.
