In case you guys have not seen this in another section.
Last Saturday I had my LML dynoed at Westech which is one of the most respected shops for this kind of work in the country. They use a Superflow dyno.
My truck laid down 355 hp and 655 tq. I am very impressed with this truck.

Thats wild for a factory truck.
If and when the aftermarket catches up do you have any intentions of bringing those numbers up?

that sounds like your putting out over 400 ponies at the flywheel and maybe about 790 to 800 ft lbs. of torque. Good #'s

My very thoughts.:cool::D

with those kind of numbers at the wheels it's not hard to see why the Duramax keeps beating the new powerstroke in every acceleration & towing test

Not by much though. I think I saw a test where the Traction Control was turned off and ford edged out the duramax

Do you live under a bridge? What was the point of your ford post in here?

Not to mention that Ford rates their truck at more HP (okay, only 3 more HP ;) ) and more torque (a solid 35 ft-lbs). So what if Ford beat the GMs in just one of the many magazine acceleration tests? According to Ford's #s it should beat the LML every time but it clearly doesn't. The LML and upgraded Allison is clearly an amazing powertrain. Back on topic I'm looking forward to seeing all of the dyno numbers, especially once the aftermarket cracks the computer.

Those are some impressive numbers, can you post the chart?

your only losing just over 10% of your hp thru the drive train.... that or GM is under rating these engines.....

The GM engineers that I spoke with said that the ratings were conservitive.
In reality some of the engines averaged a little over 400 hp at the flywheel. There are varibles that affect the true #'s, like humidity and air density and temp at the time of testing. And different clearences and tolerences of an engine will make dirrent numbers. They do a lot of testing and keep the #'s down so that if there are any challenges to the statements and Standard's type testing is done to check the rated HP and torqueclaims, they will hold up. Just like Cubic inches of a motor. If you look at different maunufacturers CI 3's, they may be under what the actual cube's are. they round them off.

GM's HP & TQ numbers are SAE certified

That's correct. that's what the engineer said. He said that most manufacture's always stay a little conservitive on thier ratings so that they are good and honest.I think it's kinda like the land speed records on the salt flat's, Someone may run 300 mph on a run, but if they don't do it on the return run they don't get to certify the run even though they really did 300 mph the first time..It's like running the same stock vehicles on a dyno shootout, some will come in at higher numbers than others. I see this on Harley's a lot. But the bottom line is how well the truck performs, and it is obvious they hit a home run on these.

Nice #'s!
It may not be that the #'s are conservative and could be that the Allison is more efficient and has lower powertrain loss.

Really good numbers for an out factory truck. Mike do you have the curve, that would be interesting to see.
