My wife drives a '00 Tahoe with a 5.3 With the A/C on and letting off of the throttle, the engine will sometimes stall. When the vehicle is idling, the engine RPMs will sit around 500 and will drop to around 300 and then pick up to 700. If the A/C is off, the engine idles around 700 without any issues.

I took the MAF off, cleaned it hoping it may be dirty...no luck. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

Well the MAF would have been my first guess....ummmmm...how about the fuel filter or the A/C compressor clutch or bearing?

Turned out to be the throttle body was carboned up. A little B12 and it is as good as new.
