First things first, are you pressing the lock button before holding the remote start button?

Yes, a good friend of mine has an 09 1500 and we were parked side by side both trying the same exact steps, his would start, mine would not.

Nope, none of the idiot lights are on.

Is there a fuse or something for it?

I first check to see if a code is thrown but may not trip the SEL light. Goto an autoparts store and have it scanned for codes. Note them and reset them. Then test the remote start.
You only have one key fob?
If two do both act the same way or if one then maybe the remote needs cleaned inside.

I have both, both are not working. I have a code scanner, I will check it when I get home.
