Like it says. Ideas?

Thanx

I forgot to add, this is with headers. The Edelbrock headers come w/two slightly longer plug wires to use.

Thanx.

I am not familiar with Taylor wires. Are the MSD Wires a hair longer than the stockers?

Thanx 496

NGK tr-6 is a pretty cold plug, I have them now but not going to do nitrous so i'm switching to a tr-5

Guess it depends on what "coolest" means? Big diameter like Top Fuel funny car wires? Or bright colors like neon pink?

To me...the coolest are the kind with clear sections on the boot that flash when it fires. Saw those on a chopper bike once. Those are the "coolest". :)

Probably a lame thread title on my part. My headers came w/two longer wires. So which make of plug wires will work fine when I get 8 new ones? I will need slightly longer ones that are nice quality but a tad longer so they will work fine w/headers.

Thanx.

Taylor has wires that have the plug end on but not the distributor end. This way you make them whatever length you want. Also with headers you would probably want the 135 degree angle on the plug end.

I must say every set of wires I ever bought (no matter what) had one that was 2" too short...or were so long I didn't know that to do with all the extra.

I'd say get the Taylor as well and learn to properly connect the distributor end. Make em to YOUR spec. You'll get top quality, good looking, big wires (any color too) that are exactly what you need with headers. And ran how you want them.

My MSD wires are a bit longer than stock, but fit just as nice.... to me they are a good wire, 50 ohms of resistance per foot and they arent even a ft long, and they came with the high temp boots and sleeves... all i have ever used is MSD for ignition products cause they never have let me down....just my $.02

only thing i dont like bout my MSD wires is the spark plug boot is straight. would be nicer if it had a bend

When I installed my MSD wires They had instructions for a set you could bend any way you wanted so im sure if you call them or Summit you could get that part number. when I go to headers i will probably go that route.

I currently have the MSD wires. They are a little bit longer which worked great when i installed my Edelbrock headers. A plus also is the protective covering on the boots and that they can be bent to any angle. I had the 10.4 taylor wire before but they were not long enough. Some were barely long enough to install before i had my headers. No problems to date with the MSD.

MSD wires provide the best performance you are going to fine. If you want to question it pick up a set and ohm them out then ohm out some others. I run them on my boosted TA.

NGK tr-6 is a pretty cold plug, I have them now but not going to do nitrous so i'm switching to a tr-5

TR-6 is only one step colder than a stock plug. Thats what I ran in my vette with the nitrous. Running TR-7's in the TA

Taylor has wires that have the plug end on but not the distributor end. This way you make them whatever length you want. Also with headers you would probably want the 135 degree angle on the plug end.

They don't use distributors any more.......So it would be coil packs

Good info right there.
