Have a set of BFG 265/75/16 AT KO's on a 2005 chev CC D/A
4x4. Have had the tire dealer blance them twice have only 2700 mi.
on them and right front has 7 1/2 oz weight on it left front has 4 oz.
At 40-50 mpg the truck hop's above or below it stops sterring doe's not shake you can feel it in the seat
Any one else have this prob?? I think the front 2 should be replaced
dealer wants to rotate them but that is not going to cure it

If you rotate them and the hop/shake moves to the front I'd make them replace the tires. I fought a problem similar to this for a month ...ended up being the aftermarket wheels. I isolated problem by reinstalling OEM tires/wheels ...rode like glass. I had the tire shop jack up the rear on a jack, put it in gear and you could literally see the tire go up/down....but it balanced fine! :)

mine does the same thing, but they are just about shot now so I'm sure the balance is off so i havent worried about it.

they may be balanced but the tire might be a little out of round, or not set quite right on the rim, i have seen a few visually "hop" on the balancer but they balanced fine. they will hop when this happens on the road. break em down and re-seat them and they sometimes end up much better, check the rim also on the balancer when the tire is off to make sure it didnt get bent somehow and thats causing the tire hop.

Holy Hell!!!! 7.5 oz weight!!!! If I put that kind of weight on a 265 tire I would seriously be looking for a belt problem or something. Thats a buttload of tire ballance on a tire that size.
