I was in a '07 Lexus IS and the overhead console at night has an ambient LED that casts a very low glow to the center console. I am curious if this has been done without it looking like FAST N FURIOUS. I think it was also found in 90's Camaros too. Just thinking of a new project to procrastinate on.

Its pretty common in high end vehicles. My Audi and Mercedes have it.

I really like it, it's nice to be able to see your drink or whatever you have in the center.

The Mercedes also has similar lighting in the footwells, girfriend loves it for digging in her purse, etc.

My wifes 06 Honda Odessey minivan has one. I've been thinking the same thing, sure would be nice to wire up one for my truck. Just afraid of choosing the wrong LED and bessel creating a glar issue. Maybe I'll stop out at the local bone yard one of these weekends and se if I can find one in a wrecked vehical.

I looked at the O/H console and this would need to be someting that would recess. Dunno, I will look in a couple sites to see what others have done. I am all about and "almost stock" look. Some thought will need to go into this.
