Are any of you guys experiencing parking brake shoes being worn out?? I just had a fiasco with the dealer over mine being worn out. Really only one shoe was close to worn out and I think it would have been OK for several thousand more miles. They told me they are not adjustable without removing calipers and rotors to get to them. I really do doubt that is the case.

I cannot understand parking brake shoes ever wearing out unless you drive with them engaged. The truck is stopped when it is applied so how does it wear unless it is not setup properly?

Mine was not holding and I could not find and adjustment so I took it in. Afterwards I found this post by Idahofox that is probably what many of us have been looking for.

There is a bulletin for the trucks with manual trans about premature wear but what makes it different that the same parking brake with a manual trans. I think there is a problem that GM is not admitting to.

What do you think folks??
