Does any one know what the overall length of a d-max and a 2 wd allison tranny is. Or the d-max and the 4l80e combo. looking to possible installing this set up in a 59 chevy wagon. just wondering if it would fit into the x-frame. thanks for the help guys.

I happen to have a LB7 and Allison sitting in the garage (see 81 motorhome thread). The Dmax measures 33 1/2" from the front of the fan, to the mounting point of the trans. The Allison measures 33 1/2 from the bell housing mounting surface to the back of driveline yoke. And yes this is a 2wd Allison. So a total length of 67 inches.

I don't know about the 4l80e, so maybe someonw will chime in with that info.
