4, all the time. just keep in mind, the truck takes longer to reach operating temp in the winter so don't go dogging the truck when it's not warmed up yet.

yea im always easy on the truck untill it reaches atleast 130 degrees. only thing that sucks for me is i live 7min away from work. even if i plug the truck in, i still dont have good heat untill im pulling into the parking lot haha. during the winter time i will run level 3 or 4

boy08 that short drive is what kills that diesel engine. Hate on preachin' take it easy but in 7 miles I'm still just starting to roll after warming up for 5 minutes in the driveway. I let it idle for like 2 minutes for turbo cool off on shutdowns. You need a Harley Sportster for quick work bike ridin' that's fun and cheap as hell.

yea i take it easy untill the engine reaches about 130-140 degrees. but still then i dont drive it like i stole it. i usually let the truck idle for about 5 to 10 min before i leave in the morning. i hate driving the truck when my monitor says engine temp is 45 degrees. when the temp here starts to hit 35 and below i start plugging the truck up at night.

Level 6 all day and every day. It only gets turned down to level 1 or 2 if I'm towing my 5th. wheel.

now if he doesnt stomp on it all the time .isnt this alright?? i mean just cause the power is there and you dont use it ..it doesnt hurt the tranny..its just there and wont be used and i've heard that some get better milage when normal driving and not stomping....or am i wrong here?? Jeff

i run level 6 usually. ive backed it down to 4 since i put my stock exhaust back on but after my 5" goes on its back to level 6. or maybe 5..hmmm.. i too let my truck warm up for at LEAST a good 5 minutes before i leave in the morning. i leave the hi idle feature on but i hardly ever plug my truck in unless i know its gonna be really cold or i have to wake up early. as i like to delay getting out of bed as long as possible which means less warm up time for the truck..

it's not always when you are stomping on it. mine for example..I was in 5th gear doing highway speeds..5th makes the most torque...and I just went to pass someone and it limped. it took about a year for mine to limp using Level 4, but it finally did. if you are just careful you'll be fine, but if it limps once it will limp more and more until the power is turned down.

the engine doesnt make any more or less torque in 5th gear. 5th is just the weakest and easiest to slip.

10 all the time

Most limp in the upper gears when they limp.
