Time has come to get a programmer for my 05 GMC 6.6
Looking for one I can:
1. mount in the vehicle
2. use to monitor parameters like boost,egt,temps etc.
3. Primary use is switch between tow and daily driving

What is considered best buy for the dollar?
Anyone have one they dont like? & why

A)Get EFI Live with an Edge Insight moniter to act as your moniter and DSP5 switch. Tyler at Meyer Performance was offering a combo deal a while back
B)Get an Edge CS or CTS canned tuner. I think the CTS has a exhaust brake option
C)Get a Banks 6 gun or Economind canned tuned with a Banks IQ to act as the moniter

Both CS and CTS have turbo braking in Mode 2 - Towing. Obviously, you tow, you will love turbo braking. When in tow mode on the truck and level 2 on the Evo, coming down hills with my 11,000 5'er pushing me, I just tap the brake once and Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr totally under control.

However, if I had the money to spend, I would have bought the full Banks system with tuner, IQ and speed brake, but for a quarter of that price, the Evo works very well.

I had been around edge's, banks, and quadzillas and not a one of them compare to efilive. I would go with the edge monitor and have it programmer with the efilive, also. The edge monitor does just about anything you would want it to! Talk to nick@duramaxtuner.com

i agree with the other guys with the Edge CTS set up with 5 tunes will have your truck running really well and you will have full range to monitor multiple PIDs and read and clear codes it is really a nice set up i run it in my own truck. We have them in stock and i can send u an ecm with the CTS with our tunes on it. It is an easy plug and play set up

You will need the EGT probe for that...

You will need the egt probe but don't worry there not hard to install by any means and they come with vehicle specifics that make it even easier

There's a stickie in the DIY section for installing the EGT probe
