i just got my SS truck back . i plan to two it occasionally about 100 miles each way a few times a year.

i have a 08 3500 SRW with a 8" lift . i have a class v 2.5 inch receiver on it . it has airbags for towing so weight isnt a big deal . i currently have a rapid hitch 10" drop hitch but it has me concerned. its rated for 10k towing and 1500 tongue weight . the thing that has me concerned is im using the 2.5" to 2" sleeve reducer . with this and the slop in the hitch it self it has an inch or two of movement when connected to the trailer . the truck im towing on the trailer weighs about 7500 tops. its on dual axle aztex 16" car trailer however im not sure of the tongue weight when im loaded . not sure how to figure it out either .

just looking for possible options to find a solid steel 2.5 inch with about a 10" drop ( im maxed out on the rapid hitch and the trailer is level) with a similar rating or better ( 2k tongue weight would be nice )

am i being paranoid and i will be fine with what i have now? or do i need something a bit stronger

I thought B&W made something with this kind of drop. I have an 8" drop with a 2" recever that has very little play in it

Do a google search for 2.5" ball mount. You'll find several of them. Adjustable, steel, aluminum, cushioned just depends how much you want to spend.

All lmm and lml came with 2.5" receivers.

The slop is a little annoying but won't cause you any problems. I've towed 1,000's of miles with my rapid hitch and 2" adapter.
