Just back from a round trip Kelowna bc to Calgary alberta through the rockies via Rogers pass. Averaged 15mpg hand calc, towing 6500lb 5th. I was very happy with the hill pulls. Kept at speed limit or a bit better the whole way, made the same best time I've had on that run in a car (7hrs)....awesome.. Grade braking was also impressive, easily holding the load with a touch of the brakes. Some very bumpy road but the truck handled it well. Stability and power were just stunning. Biggest complaint... stupid cground. Booked a full service pull through..no cable and the sewer drain was an uphill run....WHAT???(we all know @#@# doesn't flow uphill)at least the 30amp worked for the ac. I was really surprised to see far more dmax trucks towing than dodge or ford (actually very few fords, they used to rule the praries). Saw some really trick trucks of all makes. Saw one HUGE pusher in the cground from north dakota, the toad was a hummer on a trailer....wow. Very hot outside temps (mid 30s C)but having ac while pulling made all the difference (my old truck I'd have to turn ac off on hills). Truck never budged on engine/tranny temps...cool all the way, heard the fan kick in a couple times for a minute. Used t/h most of the trip. Ready to go again!!

Paul...glad you had a safe and pleasant trip. I agree, go into any RV camp site and see all the Dmax's in front of the RV. Mostly GM and Dodge's around here. Later Ron

We just pulled ours through durango, silverton two weeks ago. My 5th is probably closer to 10k and pulled great but the temp gauge did some quirky things at times, could pull a big grade and was fine but sometimes a small grade and the temp would jump real quick to a little over 215-220 and take a few for the fan to catch up. Kinda got tired of hearing the jet engine fan cause it came on alot the whole trip.
