I have noticed some strange electrical events over the past few days and I am getting concerned.

#1
I parked the truck, took the key out, opened the door and the "open door chime" sounded. I put the key back into the ignition, pulled it out and the chime turned off.

#2
I loaded a cd into the 6 cd changer. Twice it did not start with the first song yet showed it was playing track 1... and as it continued to play the remaining tracks it still showed it was playing track 1.

#3
Tonight I opened the door and the interior lights did not turn on. I closed the door, re-opened it and the light came on.

#4
The driver seat does not hold its memory anymore

I am starting to get worried as the mileage is approaching 36,000

#1 sounds like a sticking ignition key sensor switch. I see the same problem once in a blue moon.

#2 don't know

#3 sounds like a sticking door switch.

#4 I think this is a pretty common problem caused by the drivers door module.

Max, I hope your right about the sticking part. When it comes to electrical problems you can never get it to happen when you want.....hence, service not fixing it because they can not find the problems.

I did read about the the drivers seat module being a problem, but that also is not everyday. I will just have to go in and ask service what they think.....wish me luck.

There is an update out for the Driver's door module...it fixes the issue of the seat creeping forward over time. Ill have to find the document ID...dont remember it off the top of my head. The chime issues and CD problems are both definetly Radio related and could signal a radio that is going bad. I say both problems are radio related because the door and signal chimes are all generated and played by the radio itself, not some other separate module. The fact that the radio is reading CD's wrong just adds to the fact that the radio could be bad...

Thanks Ben for the info, it is going to be PITA to try and prove this to the dealership.
