What is turbo bark? Is it the sound after you do a brake stand and it sounds like its swating air or water.
Is it bad for the turbo?
How do you combat this problem?
Thanks

Yes. It can be. We know a certain someone who bought a couple ebay turbos because of it. Just let out of it softer and it won't do it... Although that isn't always easy... I bark mine fairly often...

If you do a brake stand and light them up, do not stop! You will bark your turbo (surge) and yes that is bad for them. Puts a lot of stress on the Vane tips and the turboshaft at it's narrowest point.
When burning out 'walk' the truck out of the burnout ... that will eliminate/lessen the chance of barking.
The harder fuelling programs make for harder barking turbos.
Stop doing that! A turbo can be changed in 4-5 hours if you replace the cartridge and compressor section and leave the echaust housing in place. Full Turbo re and re will take longer. Pulling the Trans makes that Job easier.
Not for the faint of heart.
NAR.... who would you be talking about?

listen to JUICE, I have been running a worne (BARKED ALOT ) turbo, and it-:t remember at 125,000 rpm,s the compressor wheel is spinning and it hits a wall of air and has no where to go but try to stop , it can only talk to you by BARKING and each time, as JUICE pointed out your input shaft is posibly spinning, or it is going to spin to disaster, every body thinks higher boost will create more hp, it may in the right fueling situations, but without the proper set up ,YOU WILL FRY YOUR TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (learn from experiance, )

I sure as hell dont want to buy a new turbo, so just slowly role out of the brake stands? So messing with the waste gate is a bad idea? Should I go with something like the Git-Kit (banks) if I want more PSI??
Thanks all

I'd just go ahead and blow up the stock turbo then get an Aurora and be done w/ it.

So if I get an Aurora they are basically bullet proof? and I can completely shut the wastegate and drive as hard as I want?? Whats an Aurora cost? And how much to just put TWINS on??
Thanks all

Twins are less susceptible to surging/barking
Singles are easier to bark, Hybrids can be more or less prone to that as well from what i have observed.
I do wonder what is harder on the turbo sometimes.
Running into the surge line gradually and gradually falling out of the surge line OR Running close to the Surge line then Stalling (barking) the Turbo.
I suspect that it depends on the rotor speed of the barked turbo

I only run my boost up to 29-30 psi, I have not heard it bark yet so I'm stil not quite sure what it sounds like, but have an idea. Will somebody post a video with sound of some turbo barkage if they have some.):h
