Mack haven't heard from you lately on the board with any "how goes its" on your ATS/co-pilot--it's been in your truck for a while now give us your up-biased opinion. Quite a few members have expressed an interest in the co-pilot, these folks need your input! Thank you.:ro)

I would imagine if you asked any user that has an ATS V transmission, they will give you the same input you're looking for...

I haven't more to add as I haven't been to the track as of yet.Yes the purchase of a new toy has stolen my immediate but not all of my plans. The Co-Pilot most definitely quickens the shifts,I don't care what Ratlover says.Perhaps something is a miss with his truck. It's my belief what got Tony the quicker runs of all the improvments he did recently was the addition of the Co-pilot.Not to say the fuel mods are worthless ,But that's just my O

It's 98 and humid here ,I don't believe chaps are necessary, perhaps in the fall. Here I thought adding extras to the Duramax were pricey

It does quicken the shifts. Never said it didnt quicken shifts or improve ET but I didnt see a grand worth of ET improvemnet compared to other places to realize gains on a mild to moderate truck. For a grand I could find lots of other places to cut more time be it drugs or getting the short time down.

I'm not following? :confuzeld

Your saying it quickens ET which gets you through the trap faster but your complaining of the cost?

There is a limitation on fuel and natural aspiration or turbo given on what is available stock. You have to pick up where and when you can. What would a turbo install with head studding cost and what will you pick up on ET in comparision?
A grand to pick up a min tenth or more is a bargain with the co-pilot.No?

What does it cost on a gasser to get a tenth let alone 11's?

Given tranny ,program and bottle feed, where will you pick up for less in a Duramax?

Enlighten us c cup bra wearer! :D

I'll agree with mac about one thing...if you think truck parts are expensive....buy aftermarket crap for a motorcycle...talk about blowing a hole in your checking account in a hurry..Censored

A!? pfffft, not even close to C's;) , bigger is better :ro)

If your a drag racer looking for every tenth then go for it, if you have lotsa cash and want a new toy go for it, for most people its 100% not needed and you can find other ways to drop a grand and still go faster. But if your getting serious about going fast and adding some nutty power then it works.

Ok......leme break this down for ya. I didnt see min a tenth implying more. I saw maybe a tenth on fuel...I'm going on what I saw. Even if you go a full tenth - 2 for a grand? Lets look at the average mild duramax. Maybe they are running a program like a hot juice......a grand on programing would yield better results. Lets look at a guy running an Xtreme already. A grand on a small shot of N2O would yield better results, a grand in slicks will yield better results, a grand in a big head and spare turbos and cranking it to the moon ect. For a grand there are places to pick up more than a tenth. Now if someone is trying to cut every tenth and didnt care for cost then its worth it. If someone is adding lotsa drugs it helps with the allisons training or lack there of at times. If someone just wants another cool toy then it works for that too if you like to be able to drive around and marvle how fast your trans shifts! Not really helping much but boy dose it feel like an animal now! Unless your SOP meter is more calibrated than mine.....I personally cant tell the difference between a few tenths. Why dont you get your trans trained with the co pilot off and go to the drag strip and make a few passes and then go make a few passes with it turned up and set to kill?

IMO if you dont plan on pushing the envelope you dont need one, either envelop of power or searching for every tenth.

I never complained about cost. I run it becasue I am searching for every tenth. Most people dont fall into that category. I'm still searching for every tenth!

mack, want to loose a tenth easy and pocket a g note, get rid of two wheels and those wind catchers of fenders in the rear. :muahaha:
just came from track after clearing codes with my suncoast and you wood of thought it had a co pilot on it. super quick and firm shifts. maybe eric had something to do with it. very happy and will spend the g note on nos shortly. alsome looking rig mack

The tenth gained in ET was not the only thing I was looking to get.........

I was looking for consistancy...........the CO-PILOT forces the ALLISON to be consistent.......it gives it the ability to keep the Converter locked through the 2nd-5th gear shifts..........watching my BOOST gauge it told me the turbo is staying loaded better and the TC is not unlocking losing valuable HP/TQ to fluid coupling instead I am putting power down through a locked TC.

Yeah a $1000 is a lot to spend on something, that's the cost of racing and being a true competitor.........sure I could have dumped the money in a NOS kit or injectors...........I wanted the shifts to be consistent and I got what I wanted. I have a 12.XX truck on fuel only....and it's a crew cab........and I know it has more ET in it on fuel only........tires, launch etc will get me into the 12.80's or better on fuel only.........

For some that $1000 might not be worth it..........that is a choice.......but ask anyone that is still banging up against the 13.0XXX for times if getting a 12.99 is worth it........I bet they say it was.

That's all I got to say........but all the fastest trucks recently regardless of the Clutches and TC are running a ATS Co-Pilot...........:exactly:

.........watching my BOOST gauge it told me the turbo is staying..........

I was suprised to find out how much programming had to do with that, I found the same thing, boost gauge dropping between shifts, a programming adjustement and that boost gauge dont fall at all....

EXACTLY.........I used to see the boost fall to 24-25 psi with the TC unlocking and rpm's approaching 3500 on Unlocked TC shifts........the Co-Pilot clicks them shifts off at 3000-3100 rpm like clockwork........

Could not be happier
