I must be doing something right. This AM I changed out the trans filter and the fluid that came out looked as good as that I put in. Since the second year - 2003, every summer I drained the pan and filter 7.9 qts. with Transynd. First year it looked dark red and smelled a little burnt. After that the color got lighter with every change and no smell. Today was a suprise when it looked similar in color to what I put in. I'm at 120,000 miles. Truck is used for towing a fifth wheel a few thousand miles per year, firewood and my daily commuter.

That's good to hear, but based on your mileage if you are using Transynd you are actually running it in overkill. You should only have had to have dumped it TWICE at the mileage you are at, and actually if that..... Good to hear it's that versus the opposite though!!!!

Right. It would have shipped from the factory with a conventional DEX3. Change it twice with TES-295 synthetic to get to extended drain interval status. You can go 150k on the TranSynd. I recommend cleaning the magnet and changing the spin-on every 15k -25k. Good rule of thumb is with every other engine oil change.

I know I did overkill on it, I'm at the end of my 2nd 5 gallon pail of TranSynd. A local Allison dealer delivers lube to our shop at work, saw my truck and offered me a good deal $125 no tax or delivery. This will be the last change for quite a while, I'm going to add it to the transfer case and run out the rest of it.
