I was told by a friend that I could not haul a goose neck or 5th wheel hook up if I put a 4" Rancho suspension on my truck. I am looking to haul the wife's horse. Has anyone had any experience with this set up?
Thanks in advance,

you could put a 4" suspension lift on the trailer too
well, actually thats a good question.
i would think that as long as the back of the trailer doesnt drag on the ground you should be able to haul it.
i have heard about some travel trailers with the springs mounted on top of the axles for more clearance, probably the same situation.

Watch your clearance at the front of the trailer, so it clears the box.
Ride will suffer, unless you flip the axles on the trailer. We had to flip the axles on our fifth wheel, because the stock truck was too high for the trailer. Got a "whipping" front ot back on rough roads. Rides 10 times better.

4" rancho here, 35" tires, haul gooseneck all over the southeast with 4 show cows and all the crap needed to stay at fairs for 3-6 days. NO clearance issues whatsoever, I'll try to pry wife away from ebay so she can attach a pic here. 5th wheel may be another story, but I've noticed the 5ers are getting taller so there may not be a prob. For unloaded pics see my sig.

Take a look at my set up. 6" RCD on 35's towing a 33' 5'er toy hauler. The hauler does have the axles flipped on mind. My buddy has an 04.5 LLY CC SB with a 6" lift and the same exact toy hauler WITH OUT flipped axles, and tows fine. The only thing he has to watch out for is step drive ways, the hauler will come close to the bed. www.cafreeman.com/duramax (http://www.cafreeman.com/duramax)

4" lift oughta put you about as tall as a stock Ford or Dodge so I wouldn't expect any problems.
