We finally got to see it and it's a very cool system. This is the Banks Nav GPS navagation system for the Banks iQ display. It's compatible with all iQ versions, tuners and speed brakes. There is NO hardware needed for this system, your iQ already has it. The GPS software is on a micro SD card you plug into the iQ. Instant GPS! It will work in ANY car or truck as the Banks Nav does not depend on the Banks tuners/speed brake for it's use. Here's a quick overview:

The second screen is where you set the home location and your destination. You can also look for local POI (points of interest) based on your current GPS location:

This is the start screen. The directions are turn by turn and the display can be used in 2D or 3D modes.

The system will work with the Banks Tuners and Speed brakes, however you are unable to change the brake or tuner settings while the GPS is in operation. The brake and tuner are still active however at the last setting you left them at. The fuel economy monitoring is also still active and recording so you can still keep track of your mileage and tank range:D

Does the sd card have to stay in or do you just load it off the sd card? Just wondering id you are hiking can you have the sd car in for you tnes, but still have the gps working? Looks neat!

Where can I get it? I was looking all over for it because of the book that was sent to me when I ordered my Big-Hoss Budle had pictures of the Banks Nav. I have not found it for sale anywhere. I was about to just buy an OEM NAV unit for my truck.

The system will come with a micro SD card that must be in the iQ for the system to work. With version 1.5 on the iQ you will see the navagation tab but it's grey. When you plug in the SD card it will activate instantly.

The GPS card is locked out. Though it's very easy to swap cads:D

The same SD card? No. Though you can simply remove the SD card and put in a new one with music on it. The GPS program will close out any other running entertainment programs when it's activated anyway so you would be unable to run the GPS and play music at the same time reguardless.

I think I will just upgrade my factory head unit to an OEM Nav then. If the Banks could cover it all that would be cool, but I already spent a lot of money on my Big-Hoss Bundle and have to draw a line somewhere.

I think the head unit costs a lot more then $100 doesn't it?

Yes, but this way I can have the Banks iQ showing the gauges I want, while my OEM nav gives me directions and plays my music. Sounds real safe, lol, I should try to text at the same time while talking to my passenger, lol just kidding. But I do think the OEM nav will cover more of my needs overall than the Banks unit, mostly because I like to monitor the gauges.

Keep an eye out for the v1.5 update. It should be up on the website in the next day or so. As there are 2 different iQ's (A3 and A5) there's going to be 2 updates. Version 1.5 for the A3 and version 2.0 for the A5. Right now we're putting them together in a single update so users won't have to down load the updates on a different iQ versions.

The update 1.5/2.0 will give the compass and the fuel economy screens and makes the iQ compatible with the GPS upgrade. As for the difference between the iQ's, the A5 has a dual core CPU where the A3 only had a single, and the memory has been greatly increased. The A3 had 256mb or 512mb of on board memory where the new A5 has 2Gb. The A3 had Windows CE 5.0 and the A5's have windows CE 6.0. If you purchased an iQ in the last few months you probably already have an A5 but it can be difficult to tell which version you have, hence the 2 in 1 update.

It's best to load in the new version as it allow updating of the bridge and the firmware on the tuner as well.

can i assume the alarms will still activate if your in the Nav mode? And will the SD card have the abality to be updated as maps are changed?
