Pretty sure that is not what it is, but my truck shut off on me and will not start. Dealer says they need to tear down the front of the motor and replace a ring? Relucting or something. What the heck is it?

near the crank shaft position sensor.. called "reluctor ring" ...if its off a tooth or gear, it could cause this.

try a search for reluctor..maybe thats it

Ah, reluctor ring. There was a code set for crankshaft position sensor too. Thanks
Is this a problem? I'm off to do some searching.

I had 2 of the 3 bolts holding my reluctor wheel on my 05 HD back off at about 20,000 miles, when I was in Boulder CO, 600 miles from home, Mechanic at that dealer said he had seen 3 05's with the problem--and the service rep 1st accused me of putting gas in itCensored !

Oh, and the only syptom prior to it quitting was an surge at idle, Dealer reflashed the computer, and told me it was a calibration issue with 05's about a month-3000 miles before it shut down. Since this has been fixed it idles smooth as silk

Mine has @23k on the clock and I had a surge at idle and just off idle before it quit. Maybe the dealer has it figured out?

It sounds like your dealer is on top of it, On mine 2 of the three bolts had completely backed out, they had to drop the oil pan, and tranny to get to the inner oil pan to get both bolts out. Mine died at one stop light, restarted, then died again at the next one, and would crank but no start unless I gave it some accellerator, then would die as soon as the RPM's went under 2K, then wouldnt start at all
