Not sure, but i know there is tons of info in the other sections about it, try a search if you haven't already its a great feature and with 6 post you may not know about it yet.

Moved to the Fat Bottoms section. :D

285's seem to be the biggest. You will need spacers and cranked bars. If you hit the right bump while turning you might get the slightest bit of rub.

285s won't fit in the rear without spacer. I believe 245 was the biggest not hauling heavy in the rear.

235/80 -17s will give you just a little more meat without causing rub.

Tough to find sizes that will work that are load rated E.

Chris, what size rim are you running? I run 265's on mine with no rubbing and no spacers. I load 20k + on my truck all the time and have never had any issues. I have been running Bridgestone Duelers lately. I got 45k out of my old set, so Im not complaining.

I was running 285/75/16 with the torsion bars cranked up and 2" spacers on stock wheels. Those tires were right at 33". Nor-Cal Nick was running 295/75/17 (I think 75 might have been 70) with a leveling kit and spacers on stock wheels.

i dont think i want to put a leveling kit on the truck when im towing my trailer it levels out almost perfect, right now i have 225 75/r17 tires on it, i want to go as big as i can with almost no rub i wouldnt mind spaceing out the rear tires, my truck is a 2wd but i take it off roading sometimes do you have any tire suggestions(mud, sand) thats a good quality for some reason i cant seem to keep a set of tires longer then 20,000 miles (i blame my right foot for that one) i also wouldnt mind chaniging the rims if its worth it BTW i really like your truck jtaylor

basicly what i want is 33s or something close 30-33s, with alittle width on them, and then i want to get some bushwacker fender flairs for it( i like the black rockstar rims or the american eagle rims) but i wouldnt mind sticken with stock and just painting them matte black or keeping the chrome simulaters on there

what leveling kit should i use, do you have any good brand names? also what spacers? thanks
BTW i really like your truck

Thanks....I would recommend Cognito's kit. Nor-Cal Nick sell them and I have a link to him and his site in my sig. I think he still has some pics of his truck with the 295s. Also goggle Fred's Spacers. There is alot of people running his stuff.

i think im gonna go without a leveling kit, just spacers, do you still have the stock wheels and tires off your truck if you do what size tires are on it. and if i dont do a leveling kit just space the rear what is the max tire size that would fit all around with just about no rub

Sorry bout that. I'm on my phone and service is crappy. I don't have the tires anymore. But I'm not forsure how far yo want to crank up your torsion bars. Mabey someone with alil smaller tire will chime in. But all the leveling kit will do the same thing as cranking the torsion bars but not effect the ride. I don't know how much your towing. But I have had 12k+ on the rear with the 285s and it didn't make my rear lower than my front. Only reason I didn't get a leveling kit was cause I was planning on lifting it.

ok well im gonna look into it, i think im just gonna stick with stock wheels and just level the front with like a 2 inch kit and get 285s or 295s

The largest size you can put on an lmm without spacers is 245 75 i spent all day at the tire shop changing tire sizes until we found what would work.Whith that size you will have about an inch clearance in back. That is with a michelin at/2 tire.

Let em rub, it wont hurt anything.

I agree with the message, but not the wording.

Rub=To move (an object or objects) firmly along a surface, especially repeatedly

I think 'rub' is not really the right term to be using for this. The tires turn the same speed so how can they actually rub? Touch? Yes, they can touch each other, but I wouldn't really call it rub.

Don't take this as me trying to call you out on anything, just something that has been bothering me for a while and your post was short and to the point. If you are towing at close to the rated weight for each tire, I could see how them 'touching' might let them build up extra heat and cause problems, but with good heavy sidewalled tires, it "shouldn't" be a problem.

:D

whats the biggest tire with spacers? and will it affect my towing

chrisdagge
11-05-2010, 10:04 AM
I was referring to the front tires rubbing on the frame or else where I wouldn't mind spaceing the rears and the fronts to fit bigger tires or if I putting bigger wheels on it or just after markets

235/85/16"s are biggest without spacer. End of story. I'd assume that 235/80/17"s are the same size basically. I ran 245/75/16"s and under load they touch and if you happen to get a rock wedged between them they can blow out .
The other option is to go to a 245/70/19.5" and they won't require spacers and are approximately 33" tall and 10" wide. They look good and hold weight good but ride like crap.
