I know most people will say do the Hoot method but for those in the downpipe how close to the turbo did you go or did you modify the heat shield?

For post-turbo, the closer to the outlet the better. On a stock turbo, you're probably not going to get any closer than about 3" from the outlet due to the really oddly shaped downpipe. I'd try to avoid putting it in the front pipe, as that's getting quite a ways away from the scene of the action.

I think i will put i will remove the shield and drill a hole in it for the sensor to stick through and then put it back on so i can have ot mounted closer to the turbo
