I just did a round trip to Florida from Minnesota. I have found that the chrome tip on my MBRP exhaust is all black. Any tips for cleaning and polishing. Any special cleaners I can use. I have driven this truck for nearly a year and have never seen the tip so black. Is there something in the fuel down south. I don't get nearly the smoke from the fuel up here.

I thought this was normal. I just clean it with soap and water then some steel wool if needed.

Eagle one makes some awesome stuff that I have used for years. It comes in a black/silver container.. it's like a cotton/wool mixture (but it's soft) and has a cleaner/oil mixed in it. tear a piece off.. use it to clean the tip.. then grab a cloth to remove/buff it.. it will shine like you wouldn't believe!! It even removes road residue/rust chips that you may see show up..

This is a chrome trick I've been using for years. It's cheaper and more effective than the name brand products. Get some rubbing compound (paste) and 0000 steel wool. Scoop some compound on the steel wool and go to town. If it's heavy rust or residue, use corser steel wool and finish with the fine. If you have tar or other gooey stuff use steel wool and gasoline. Easy on the gas. A little bit goes a long way.

I nevr-dulled the stock pipe and it looks great. I use it for everything, you can thank the Navy for that!

Thanks guys, I have something to do tonight. I was just going to sit on my a$$ and do nothing in the 90+ heat and 75% humidity but now I think I will grab a cold one and go sit in the garage and polish. Wait, let me think, Maybe tomorrow!
