This just suddenly started yesterday. I turn the key on, but I can not move the shifter out of Park. Any ideas?

Yank it loose from the trans with E-brake on and try to shift the trans by hand out of park. Hope this helps typhoon 10-23-2010, 05:44 PM Update. The ignition key has 3 positions in the forward turning direction. Unlock, running, and cranking. Yes? Well if I place my foot on the brake, turn the key to the unlock position, I can take it out of park. Once I turn it to the running position, the gear shifter stays locked, crazy. Even if I turn it back to the unlock position, I can not take it out of park I have to go back to the off position, then to the unlock with my foot on the brake, and i am good to go, lol. Weird. This all started suddenly yesterday. Oh well. BigMike8504 10-24-2010, 12:45 AM You might phone your local steering column shop. You ignition switch might be in the fritz and they can probably point you in the right direction if they cant help you.
