I bought this truck a few weeks ago and I am a very proud owner. Traded in my baby, 2004 chevy 1500 VHO vortec high output/before the vmax. I had heads, cam, headers, the works done to that truck but could never use it as a truck because it was made to beat on sports cars. Had it running a 12.85@106 so it was fun while it lasted... Well back on the new truck... bought it with 91,000 miles. I have had other diesels in the past with a family owned business and fell in love with the torque! We had a 2004 powerjoke that stayed in the shop for an endless amount of problems. Then we got a 2004 LB7 that never let us down. And last but not least a 2007.5 6.7l cummins. I have drivin a 5.9 and like them alot but that 6.7 sucked as much fuel as a gasser. At 26,000 miles the rearend blew out but we never had all the problems that others did with the exhaust. All said and done being a GM fan decided that a duramax 4x4 would be my next rig. The dealer had installed a Tuff Country 6in lift and new 35/12.50/20's so that was a big plus. The one complaint I have with the lift is that there is not any subframe strut braces. I believe thats what they are called. Its the bars that bolt to the subframe that run with the torsion bars. Called them to ask why and they of course gave me the run a round and sent me to Lee Shwab where they had the work done. From my understanding that shop is not allowed to use a welder, so would they just throw them away? They tried telling me that they didnt come in the box... How important are these bars? I just dont see them actually bracing the subframe much with just one little bolt that goes up to the frame. Seems like the bolt would just sheer off before it prevented the subframe from folding in. I think I have rambled enough now lol but what are your opinions on the subframe strut braces.
PS- im also having an issue with the LBZ mp swap. Its posted in the LLY section and any help would be awesome!
Thanks
