How do you adjust parking brakes on a 2004 2500HD 2 wheel drive Chevy?

It's just like adjusting a set of drum brakes. The parking brake is actually a drum setup with 2 shoes inside the rotor. The backing plates have little tabs that need to be knocked out. Kind of a PITA to get in there but if you have a drum adjusting tool with a good 45* or greater angle on it you can do it. I had a tool with the right angle but was too long so it trimmed it down and now it's perfect. Just remember not to make em too tight:eek:
