i have an ipod running in my truck through an fm transmitter and love it.

the only problems are the mount always gets inthe way of my shifter and the sound quality is not even close to being cd quality.
i do like the fact that i can change my playlist and other stuff right off my ipod. i like switching to different playlists or artists while i am driving.

i saw a pioneer radio the other day on the internet where you could hook up the ipod to it and leave it in the glove box out of the way and the ipod menu could be brought up on the pioneers screen so you could scroll through artists, albums, playlists, etc. right on the radio's screen. the only problem is that it costs around $1000.

is there any other cheaper radios that have a menue to change the ipod settings with the ipod hidden from view.

Don't know if this is exactly what you're looking for but you can get these adapters to plug into your GM radio.

There is also a product called Ipod2car. It's an adapter interface cable for the factory GM and other radios. The down side is it plugs in the aux input which is used for cassette players and xm satellite. They sell for $155 on EBAY.

Alpine also has an Ipod interface that works with most of their headunits. I've got it in my truck and it works great.

1000 bucks seems pricey...but then again it depends on what deck they are selling with it as well. Heres the link for the ipod adapter that pioneer sales.....I got an ipod a few weeks ago and I love it.......Im about to go on ebay after i post this and buy the adapter.....no more sorting through unlabeled mp3 cd's.....control my ipod right through the tv screen.

OK... I got the USA Spec one and am useing it through my stock stereo (XM, Single disk) and it works great,., You can control 4 playlists (FForward, rewind, skipforward adn back) or random within the list. You can set up the 6th disk as an aux input (it sees your Ipod adapter as a 6 disk changer) and the first 4 are playlists you set up in iTunes, the 5th disk is all the songs in the iPod an the 6th disk is an aux input. You could also just have 5 playlists and no aux input but this works well for me to have my DVD player play audio through the entire vehicle. It will only show D 1 T 14 being disk 1 track 14 and although you can control things you cannot see song name and titles but it will charge and the sound is as good as with the CD player. Easy install and I love it...
