I went to take my toy trailer in for service last week. As I was picking it up, one of the service techs walked over to me and asked if my truck was a lb7 or a LLY. I stated it was a LB7. He stated that he had an LB7 and just bought the LLY. He went on to state that the LLY had a different power band and when towing his 33 foot toy trailer, his EGT's were into the 1300's and the truck did not pull as well as the LB7. I told him, I had no problem pulling my 40 footer and my EGT's were fine as long as I used tow haul mode and overdrive by-pass. He said he is going back to the LB7. Has anyone else experienced this?

You should have told him you installed the green powerband and it helped out alot:D Yes LLY trucks do have higher egt's (stock vs. stock) due to a higher power rating. This is also why they consume more fuel.

I tow with towhaul but I do not take off the overdrive, should I? If so why?
