Anybody no whats going on with my 97 6.5 I have to put coolant in recovery tank about 1 quart every 6 weeks. I have no apparent leak at all from back to front of truck dry as a bone.

I would get an oil analysis ASAP. Several possibilities. Blown head gasket could be letting it into the combustion chamber. Smell the exhaust; look for white exhaust. Blown head gasket or cracked block could be introducing coolant into the crankcase. There could also be an external leak that you aren't catching.

One more is that combustion gasses push the coolant out while you're driving from a weak head/gasket.

I will say head gasket, same symptoms that I had. Try and opem the bleader on the thermostate housing. If there is a lot of air comming out of the bleeder, then there is a possible blown head gasket. U will never see it. I originally thought when mine went out that my overflow cap was bad and leeking but it was worst case scenerio. I hate to make it sound bad but that is more than likely the case, the head gasket that is.
