Every time i drive up to Tioga Lake(near yosemite),park the truck,go fishing, get back in the truck,(approx. 6hrs. later) the truck will start, run for approx. 5min., then DIE OUT!! I would then have to prime the fuel filter to get it going, is this normal at high elevations with the LB7??

I have been in that area a few times and have had no problems, That is one thing I like about the diesel it runs good at high elevations. Did it throw a code? Parked on an incline?

Mine gets hot and starts a weird idle surging along with ultra low oil pressure.

My 2003 has done that at 5000 feet. After I get to camp and park the trailer, then shut off the engine, it usually will die after restarting. I just pump the primer on the filter housing until it is firm then restart. After that, it usually runs fine the rest of the stay.

Max Mike-no codes.and not parked on a in-cline..Badger- it looks like we have exactly the same problem, but, mine dies at 10,000'...
No problems here the cooler the air the stronger she runs. Did have a similar problem but traced it to a faulty Edge Juice box. Replaced it and never happened again...
