Going to the dealer today to possably pick up a new truck and wondering if anyone has picked one up with 4:10s yet. Truck will be getting lifted just wondering about the mileage difference with stockers and driveablility.

duramaxes have ever only had 3.73 gears, no other ratio for the hd's come with the d-max

If you do the build online you can pick 4:10s if you so desire. There are also a couple members that got 4:10s from the factory in LMMs.
I'm looking at selling/trading my truck in on a 2011 and have been wondering if anyone ever has ordered a truck with the 4:10s vs the standard 3:73 and how big of a difference it had on the drive-ability and fuel economy.

only able to get 3.73 with d max as per site 4.10 and 3.73 for 6.0
yeh if you click on the description of 4.10s it says you have to have 6.0. It wont automatically deselect it (seems to have a few bugs in operation) but the description says 6.0.

I wouldn't want 4:10's with the Duramax anyway unless I was planning on pulling tree stumps.... and my 3:73 rear handles that just fine. But you would notice a significant drop in fuel economy if you did have 4:10's.

i know, with my 315/70/17's I would like to get some of my fuel economy back....i would rock the 4.10's

Only thinking 4:10s from factory because I plan on lifting the truck and running up to 38s...Time will tell though. First have to sell the current ride.

if youre gonna rock some 38's 4.10's might not be enough to get you back into the sweet spot

from the above website
Good "rule of thumb" calculation is to mutiply .12 by your tire diameter. (.12 X 38" = 4.56)
