Just got into my truck today, started it up and it displayed a service 4wd message on the info center. Never happend before. Looked in the service manual and it only said to turn the vehicle off then back on and if it comes back on to service it. The lights on the 4wd selector are not on as well, not even the 2 high light. I'm concerned about possible damage if I drive any more.:help:

dont wanna be an a$$ but the moderators dont like it if you post here unless your truck wont move under its own power.
- probably just need to change fluid in transfer case.

I understand the emergency only thing. Maybe I'm over reacting but since none of the selector lights are on and i can't shift using the selector buttons, i don't want to be causing damage to the transfer case or anything else.
Besides, I don't want to be an a$$ but who made you forum cop. Censored

Going to move this to the proper forum. Should not be a major issue, just have the dealer check it out. Don't think you will do any damage to it, if you feel that is an issue call the dealer and they will pick it up. Also JhnZ71 was just trying to help. Welcome to the forum...

This used to happen to me all the time. The sensor at the 4 wheel drive was screwed up or would get dirty and the computer would be unable to communicate with the 4 wheel drive. The dealer at the time said it was no problem and that the parts were backordered. I drove like that for several weeks without problem.
