hey guys,
I am not on this forum all that much but I was under my truck today and noticed fluid all over my back rim and running down the tire. I believe me and a buddy (who had knowledge of vehicle repairs) are going to do this ourselves to save money. I was hoping for a ball park price of what the parts will cost, what parts AND or special tools I need, and maybe even how long it will take 2 people. Is it a tough project or fairly easy? Is there anything else I should replace while I am in there? And finally any tips/recommendations would be great. I plan on getting parts (if I know which ones I need) tomorrow and doing the repair the next evening after work. Thanks guys.

easy!! need that special socket that has the little tits on it to remove the outer nut. same as whats used for a dana 60. i think the seal was no more than 30 bucks at napa. need the axle seal. i think 10 bucks at dealer, i am sure napa has them too. couple of cans of break cleaner. good to go. not hard at all

I would say go with the OEM, I think they made a change to it to make it better. I have replaced both of mine, easy job. Here's the how to http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84927
