Hey everyone. im new to this so ill try my best to do this right. But i recently purchased a 2006 gmc duramax. I want to do so many things to it but money is limited. I was wondering if i could have a few tips on pillar gauges. What type what ones and how easy are they to install?

Just go with a monitor like the Edge Insight. They cost the same when compared to a few gauges and will monitor more information then what you get with individual gauges.

I think mine is 40, made by Isspro.
If you decide with pillar gauges, check out dieselmanor.com. I think they have about the cheapest price you will find, and they offer a whole kit with every little part you will need for complete install, even a full wiring harness. I got mine from them, and they even threw a mint in the package!
BTW, I think the stock turbo will only go to 26 psi? I could be wrong...

Hey yea thanks i checked out the website. They do have a pretty good deal on it. Couple questions... how easy was it to install in your truck.. does it look good.. and how do you like your mickey tires i was thinking about getting same ones different size.

The package comes with great directions, so it's really easy to do. I had mine for a few months before I got a chance to install them, so in the mean time I lost the wiring harness, so I had to make up my own by looking at the wiring diagram. The overall toughest part was getting the wires routed through the firewall. So tough, that I had to have my girlfriend wiggle a wire...it looks really good, although I would spend the $20 and get the matching interior paint. I left mine black since I couldn't find any paint to match, which looks a bit odd with tan interior. I think it would look SO much better painted, but I still like it a lot.
On the other had, I think the mickey t's are the best tires on the planet! I have had the same set for 5 years and through 2 different pickups, with only 2 leaks, none of which were major. I will definitely get the same tires again, but in a smaller size also. The rubber is super tough and lasts a LONG time.

Oh sweet i just only worry about drilling holes in my engine lol.. but yea i have black interior so it will work. But also i was looking to get just the 265/75/16 nothing big just something other than the grandpa tires i have on now
I put Autometer boost gauge and egt gauge in a pillar mount painted to match.I tow alot and I watch the exhaust gas temp closer than the boost. Stock turbo will only boost to around 26 . Autometer gauges come with everything you need but you need to drill and tap the exhaust manifold and the tubo pipe. I did both with the engine running and went slow. The chips created from drilling will be blown out ( wear safeety glasses) good luck.
