Whoa! I just changed the fuel filter in my '02 Chev with 28,108 miles on it. I bought the truck with 26K on it. Don't think it has ever been changed. Nicktane in the very near future! Also did the front and rear diffs and the front was a mucky greenish goo, and the rear was burnt grape chucky stuff. Censored Should have done this very first thing after I bought the thing. Transynd and filters are next for the Alli as for the T-Case.
Hope the neglect didn't shorten the life of her too much!

Mine looked just like that with only 15,000 miles.

I've always changed mine in 10-11,000 mile frequency. This time with the 'new improved' dual pleat i'm going to run it out close to 15000. Not so much that I think the design is that big of an improvement, but everytime I've changed(now at 49,000) I've only had anywhere from a 1/3rd to a 1/4 used up. Either I'm buying clean fuel, or the filters just aren't worth a damn.

Changed mine yesterday 1st time at 13.6k. About 75% to 80% blocked (or black). About what I'd expected and the change was only a 10 minute job. Only problem was getting the right filter wrench. Got a Lisle flex handle that goes down to 4.12". Worked great. Will now shift to every other oil change (10k) for interval. DID NOT notice any difference in performance this AM.

I saw more rust in there then I would have liked to see. I thought there was a fair amount of rust but I didn't have a baseline I guess.
