I have a 99 k3500 with 7.4 with a hypertech programmer on it now. Not real happy wwith it I was kind of looking into getting a blackbear tune. I was wondering about how much it cost and what kind of gains it gets.

Everything you need to know hear: http://www.blackbearperformance.com/

I have a BB tune on my wife's 2007 Yukon & will be getting on on my 2010 6.2L because I was so satisfed with the results. I can't tell you exactly how much hp I gained, but it feels so much better than it used to. The prices range from $200-549 depending on what way you go (mail order tune, in person, etc.)

I recommend getting an in person tune or trying out their new autocal tune. With the new autocal you do some data logging on the module that you buy, email it to him he gets you a tune ready and emails it back, you upload on your autocal & tune your truck. It also reads DTC's & can tune up to 8 vehicles.

What's the consensus on the traditional tune? I've seen on here several guys who had that and said it was just as good at the data logging version. Justin said that's fine, as long as nothing wrong with the truck or any fault codes to read. The auto cal thing looks awesome, but just can't afford that right now...

I think the traditional tune is a good option if you don't have many mods. If you just have exhaust, CAI, etc. it will be just as good as a data logging tune.

No mods, just 180 thermostat and Delco plugs gapped at .045", and an amsoil air filter element.

Blackbear tune is one of the best out there but that's a heavy truck you got,and if your looking for the differents in the hypertech and the blackbear tune well its not going to much different than what you got. It's not going to be like adding a charger or a turbo to your truck I would just look into some other mod's than going from programer to tune for real horsepower.

Well I have a nelson tune which more or less would give me the same results as a blackbear tune. Stock my truck ran 16.2ish in the 1/4. I added my tune and an intake and ran a 15.3. Hope that gives you an idea.
