Recently i installed the tst powermax on my truck (02 dmax) i can only turn it up to the number 5 setting...i had the torque on 5 or 6...just kind of experimenting...but when i turned the box on 9 on the horsepower setting it would cut out and it seemed like it was being deprived from fuel...or something wasnt pumping correctly...i went and had my truck serviced and the fuel filter changed because i thought that might be the problem but when i re-installed the box it did the same thing...i know people that have alot more done to there trucks and they never had this problem...its only cutting out a high rpm...at a higher speed...it almost sounds like its governing out...who knows...i know i had an edge hot juice and never had this problem...so i dont know what the deal is....but if you could give me any information if anyone else has had this problem or any ideas i would appreciate it....:ro) :snipersmi powermax

Do you have the 4 little dots blinking on the display? Actually do you have the display with EGT? That sounds like either bursting or EGT cut-off. Normally when you hit the speed governer it just sits there and doesn't go any faster. You hit the EGT back off and it is like a gas engine governer where it will cut back the power so you don't melt down the engine. If you have the TST Display with EGT you can raise that EGT limit some, I don't know how much though. Also, if you don't have your tranny done, I would be careful that you don't burn it up.

Sounds like your running out of fuel, many trucks do this. The only help would be to install a lift pump kit to help supply fuel to the CP3. This fixes the problem for most.

You may get more help if you put this type of thread in the proper section.

I had the PowerMax, and with a stock tranny, you can not run it over about 5/2 (You gave no mention of mods, so I have to guess the tranny is stock!) Even with the 6 speed, you can not run more then about 7/4. When I first got the PowerMax, I had no problem with cutting out, but as time went on, it started cutting out. I ended up selling it because it was cutting out every time when I got to about 60 mph under full throttle.

Please be advised that your tranny's max input is 545 lbs ft of torque...................SWH....
