I am comfortable changing fluids, brakes, exhausts but I have never worked on the inside of a tranny. JC1843 10-09-2010, 07:09 PM There is a good write up on DIY-- and yes, you could do it if you keep everything clean and organized. Be sure you torque the valve body and use a little grease to hold the springs and balls in the trim valves (that holds it together while you assemble the parts). A good mechanic can do it in 2 hours or less. so labor will probably around $200. greif03lb7 10-09-2010, 07:14 PM does the whole valve body need removed so the holes can be drilled in the plate right? then just install the two springs and check balls on the trim valves. Or are the 6 speeds that much diff then the 5 speed allys when it comes to the vavle body part of the trans go jr.
