Well folks, I gotta say thanks for all the helpful hints on this board. I was working on an 2000 Exploder opps I mean Explorer and it was running on 5 cyls instead of 6, the scanner pulled a miss-fire on Cyl #6 code so I replaced the wires and plugs and found two plugs that were white and 3 plugs that had tracking marks on the outside of the plug (where the boot slides on) The 2 white plugs both shared the same coil. I was pretty sure the coil pak was faulty but did not want to replace a part unless I was certain it was broke.( read customer's car) as I was staring at the ignition/coil pac I remember reading on this site that the "PMD re-torque trick" had worked on a Fo$d ignition module, I thought what the hell, I'll give it a go. Sure enough the bolts were loose and as soon as it was tightened up the miss dissappeared!!:D From now on anytime I encounter an ignition/coil/module troubles my first action will be to check the screws/grounds
THANKS!!!
