I use a can of seafoam about every 10 tanks of diesel. The last oil change, I put a whole can in the crankcase about 100 miles before the change

wow...what a difference. my engine runs smoother and quieter.

I have a question about using the spray in the intake.....the directions say to get the spray straw in between the intake manifold and the intake tube. I cannot figure out how to do that without disrupting the airflow from the intake though

Can I just take the air filter off, and spray it in the intake, while still getting the same results?

also..I read where a guy uses a rubber flexible tube and the liquid seafoam. He talks about using a vacuum line to suck the seafoam out of the can a little at a time to introduce it into the cylinders and onto the top of the pistons. Has anyone here done that? exactly what vacuum line did you use? The only vacuum line I know I have is the egr vacuum line

Love Seafoam. Just put a can in my wife's Audi this morning.

Is it a good idea to introduce a flammable substance into the intake of a diesel? I ask because I have been wondering the same thing about Seafoam and Google seach has returned nothing.

I did foam the intake of my Huyndai with the Deep Creep once and was not impressed with the results. It left the inside covered in an oily residue and I had to remve the intake and clean it out. I use Deep Creep on everything but the intake now.

This has been brought up here before. While I myself have not done this with a diesel or a TD diesel for that matter, the general concencus has been it's not the best idea because of the turbo. Reason being the heat, and boost could cause issues. Weather it will or not I cannot actually tell you.
As far as in the tank or in the oil, you shouldn't have any problems.

The only thing to caution about using in the fuel is that it contains alcohol, which dries seals and GM recommends NO ALCOHOL products... Just FYI.

SeaFoam contains NO ALCOHOL..says so right on the can! I use it in the dirtbikes,quads,etc. Another good product is Marvel Mystery Oil..similar product.

Seafoam does contain IPA (isopropyl alcohol). See section 2 of the msds below (available form seafoam web page). I like Seafoam and use it in my gas truck and car (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=3600563#), boat and yard equipment and have also used it to “clean” the motors before an oil change – but will not use it in the diesel fuel of my 2008 truck.

They lied to me!!:mad: I want my money back!!:eek: Crow doesn't taste so bad when you use A-1 sauce..haha..later.

I'm almost certain that isopropyl alcohol isn't corrosive, not like ethanol or methanol, which is probably what they mean when they say "no alcohol."
