Looking for the best mig welder for around $800 bucks. Ive been doing some research and so far im leaning towards the millermatic 180 for 220v machine or a lincoln 140c for a 110v machine.

It has to have infinitely adjustable controls, I dont want any of the just setting A,b,c,d etc stuff.

what do you recomend?

I have a miller 140 110V that I'm into around 800 for everything, bottle, hood, etc. It's been a good welder for 2+ years.

140c works great and very portable

Im thinking that may be the route i go. I have access to a big wirefeed at work and mutiple arc welders there also including one mounted on a pickup.

I have the millermatic 180. Maybe older, but does not have infinite controls, maybe the newer has... We have the Lincoln at work... The Miller is way better than the Lincoln by far. On the infinite controls I have found that I can tailor the machine with the size of the wire.. i use the smaller wire. .029" with very good results. I keep a variety of wire sizes on hand and It welds great.. 10 years old and still runs like new.

Got a millermatic 180 on hold for me at the local welding supply store for $863
