Mike, I just replaced the belt on my 02. As far as I know I have the 105 amp alternator. I installed the 4061182 to replace the GM # 97300653 UZZ 6PK2992. The last three numbers is the length. (4061182 = 118.2") Later! Frank

Hmmmm they list these two:

4081360 Poly-V (105A Alt)(Dual Generator)......8PK3455
4081369 Poly-V (Dual 105A Alt)......................8PK3477

Is the dual Generator the same as dual alternators ?
Did our trucks come with generators ?
What exactly are they talking about with dual generators ?

Just a heads up but CSK (Checker Schuck's Kragen) now carries the Goodyear Gatorback belts. They got rid of the Dayco they had. I don't know if there's a vendor on here or an online source in general that's cheaper; not meaning to step on toes, just letting everyone know.

They are calling it an AC generator instead of an alternator...just terminology. Duramax comes with a dual alternator option.

So are they calling the alternator a generator or all they calling the AC compressor the generator ?

The part numbers are diffrent and the lengths too.

Most trucks don't seem to come with the Dual Generator setup, unless spacifically ordered.
If you have it, you'll have a generator, (alternator), on each side of the A/C compressor, like in the pics below.

Ok maybe I didnt state my question correctly,

I went to the Goodyear website and they had those 2 part numbers for my truck, Yes I do have the 2 alternator set up and the right number is probablly # 4081369, but my question is what is the other belt # 4081360 for ?

What exactly is a dual generator set up, it cant be the same as the dual alternators because the part numbers and the belt lengths are different. :help2:

Probably something you'll have to ask Eric about.

That used to drive me nuts & so didn't the moisture squeaks.

Ok from what I found cross referencing #s & this is what I came up with.

Duramax Serpentine Belt ( 02-04 Federal emmisions w/ dual alt)
If you have a Federal emmisions truck with dual alternators, this is the replacement belt. part#97300655

CHEVROLET 97300655-Goodyear No. 4081360
the other # you listed is for Cali emission trucks with duel alts

Ahhhh maybe thats what it is, it might have something to do with Cali emissions

Thx
