My truck originally came with the chrome steel wheels. The painted wheels that come on the work and fleet trucks (that I have seen) use the same size center caps so I knew from the start that I would have to cut these to make them work.

I cut the legs off the back with a dremel.

To shave them down to fit. I used my router table, only because it was handy and had an old bit in it. (wear ear plugs and don’t do this during nap time. The plastic vibrates and makes one h@ll of a noise) I shaved off about 1/16”. They fit tight and popped in with a good slap. You might want to cut some material off the backs where the legs are so that they will set in a little deeper in the wheel. When I installed mine I got less than 2 turns on the plastic lug covers. So far none of them have come loose.

The color is not the same. From a distance it looks ok but if you look close you can see the difference.

The chrome ones don't quite look right and neither do the gray ones. I think the H2 rims are painted silver. I wonder if there would be any trouble repainting the caps to better match?Edited by: mtomac

You might want to try some "Silver Argent" from the old muscle car rally wheels and clear coat them afterwards. Thats my plans.

That pic really amplifies the color difference. In reality it doesn't look that bad.
