Is there a preferred brand and model of bug/rock shield? Will crap collect between the shield and hood? If so, is it difficult to clean behind? Will it scratch the paint where the shield fastens to the hood? Do they rattle? Do these things work??

Lund makes them. Can get em in clear or smoke. I got a clear one and had body shop shoot the backside to match truck. Looks good and paint does'nt chip. Plenty of room between shield and hood, so stuff does'nt accumulate. Easy to install also.

I have the stainless steel one from lund. Nice product looks good..... took a bit to get it to fit right but once the mounting tabs were tweaked a little it installed really easy.

I have the GM brand from the dealer about $70. Easy to install, doesn't rub, rattle or make wind noise and seems to be sleeker than others.

I bought a Trail FX from Koneta Factory Outlet for $39. It was the smoke one. Installs in about 5 minutes. You can remove it easily to clean.

Local Line-x dealer will spray one for $90, I seem to never be in the area to do mine yet. My step-dad has it & it looks nice.

I bought and installed 3M clearbra material myself... THe lower bumper was impossible but the hood and fenders were easy...

Anyone know if they make clear ones for the side windows (preferably just the front passenger/driver windows)? I like the idea of having them painted the color of my truck to match.

I ended up getting the Lund Interceptor hood shield. Very easy to install and looks great.

Do any of you guys live in snow country? I'm thinkin' that the shield would trap the snow on the hood and get in the way of brushing it off and/or
keep it from sliding off at a stop when the hood warms up, which is always handy. If they are readily removable, they could be taken off in the winter. I'd like one if they're easily removable.

The one from GM comes with blind nuts and screws to attach it to the hood. So you could just unscrew it and leave it off for the winter.

I put the real deal from GM on our truck last July, and the install was a snap. I think it's looks beat all the others hands down. Ran it through our Wisconsin winter with no issues.

I just bought the Bugflector II in Smoke, but I don't like the way it looks. I was thinking of getting a Clearbra instead. How much does the kit cost and how easy was it to install? How do you like the results? Does it protect well?

Installed the GM last week :thumb: , came with the 3m tape for the window side moldings. Thought I'll try it first on the freeway to see if I need to use it for the pillar noise that people were having. Am GOOD :D !
