What would cause a truck with the zf-6 to shutdown at approximately 1900-2000 RPM?

I was pulling a short but steep hill on my way home. Edge set to 1/1 3rd gear 2800 rpm before it should down. 30' tandem gooseneck in tow GCVW above 21000 lbs.

How is your fuel filter?

Might be fuel filter and might be the dreaded overboost code..

I replaced the fuel filter about 1500 miles ago. I was on vacation last week pulling a small 19 foot deck boat. It pulled to kentucky lake just fine but went into limp mode 5 times between St. Louis and kansas city on the way home. Each time I was not even at full throttle.

How's your MAF sensor? I saw in your sig that you had a K&N air filter. Excess oil from the filter can coat the MAF and cause problems. Also, open the drain on the WIF sensor (bottom of fuel filter) and pump the primer a few times and collect a fuel sample in a glass and see what it looks like.

Well, I cleanded the MAF again last night. about 12 miles from home it went into limp mode 3 times while pulling about 6k lbs. It did not go into limp mode unloaded.
