I just ordered 2 cases of Lucas Syn fluid from Summit yesterday along with the Lucas Transfix. The guy at Summit said the Transfix firms up shifts. My question is this, how are you guys replacing ALL the fluid? What I have done in the past is to drain the pan and refill, unhook the return line to the tranny, pump out a couple quarts, put in a couple quarts, repeat until I see clean stuff coming out. This method is rather tedious, so if anyone has any suggestions on an easier procedure, I'm all ears. Also, anyone using Lucas fluids?

I didn't think the LUCAS Syn ATF met the Allison 295 requirements?

According to the manual, the fluid needs to be Dextron III. The Lucas fluid states that it meets Dextron III standards. Did I miss something here? I'd hate to put 20 quarts of this stuff in and have to change it later.

2nd page I believe is where the flush method is explained. Should work for you.

Check for a garage that has the Bilstein transmission flush system.

Thanks Enigma. Sounds like the same method I use except I disconnect after the cooler to get all that fluid out too. Plus I don't have to crawl around under the truck as much.

The thing that I never have understood about Allisons in general is: I worked for the OLD Waste Management in the late 80`s. They had a National account with Pennzoil. We were told that the new SOP was nothing but Motor Oil for EVERYTHING. Pennzoil came in drained all of our Bulk tanks and the program was Motor Oil for eveything= Hydraulics, Trans, Engines, even Power Steering!!! It made absolutely no sense to me, even a DUMBCensored . Unfortunately for me I left soon after the Implmentation so I wasn`t around to see the end result. Censored If I`d do that to any of my personal vehicles.

I'm sold on Lucas products, I'll try it, my allison turns into a slush box with dex 3 and mobil 1 when the temps warm up! Now, just where did I put that summit catalog after I went diesel in '01 ?
