Bought a new in the box VA 35-70 hp Pressure box. It is old, but I got it for $110.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7987968928&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6

Seemed like a mild tune, so I thought it would work well for me unitil I scrape together some more $$ to get the gauges, bigger tune, and exhaust that I _really_ want.

Then I did some searches on the early days of VA on here... And some of it was not favorable.

Anyone running one of these? Bad news? Problems?

Thanks!

Jay

I wouldn't be too afraid of it. The technology is pretty old, but they did well and were easy to install/remove. 2001's had an issue with external fuel leaks from the rail psi sensor that these boxes tended to flush out, but beyond that they worked well. MANY of the fuel in oil injector issues were on trucks that had never used pressure boxes so I think the boxes may have been unfairly judged.

I haven't tried it on a 2003 as they were pretty much out of favor when the Juice and Smart Box E came out.

Your truck should be fine running that box.
The only trouble I had with mine was when I was towing.
It would set a P0087 code for low fuel rail pressure because it commanded more pressure than the pump could give.

I believe it was one of the first boxes out for the Duramax.

I have one never had any problems. Still sitting on shelf.
